FAQs
Do you only photograph pets?
Yes, but there will be an opportunity to have a few shots of you interacting with your pet if you wish.
I have done a number of portrait sessions at special request, such as outdoor child portrait sessions, engagement sessions and outdoor boudoir portraits. If you have an outdoor session in mind you would like to discuss, please do get in contact.
What if my dog can’t be off the lead?
While it is nice for your pet to be photographed without a lead or collar, believe it or not, most of the images you see here are taken with dogs on a lead. With a bit of magic and photoshop, no one would ever know! Collars and harnesses will be left on for some of my more natural adventure shots, this can be discussed prior to your shoot. Please be aware that I am unable to remove larger hardnesses. Your dog will need to be on a regular collar or slip lead if you would like these removed.
My dog is not trained, will this be an issue?
Not at all. I will always take time at the start of a shoot for your dog to get to know me and my camera. With a bit of patients and anticipation from me, even the most excitable of dogs can be photographed.
What if I have more than one dog?
That’s not a problem, all my packages have options for 1-2 or 3-4 dogs. Just select the required amount when purchasing. More than four dogs? Please get in touch to discuss a tailored package to suit your needs.
What happens if the weather is awful?
I will monitor the forecast daily leading up to your shoot but, the Welsh weather can be unpredictable. If the weather on the day is unsuitable we will simply reschedule for another day at no extra cost.
What is the best time of day or year?
There are opportunities to shoot at anytime of the year so it really depends what type of photographs you would like. Spring flowers and autumn woods are good options. The best time of day is early morning and late afternoon or evening, as this provides the best light. Midday sun can be difficult and create harsh shadows, while the summer temperatures may be too hot for your pet.
What is the best location?
Any outdoor location where your dog is comfortable is a good location. Open spaces with plenty of greenery and flowers, local parks, beaches, and mountains are some great choices. If your pet is older or extremely shy, you may prefer to have the session in your garden. If you would like a more urban location we can discuss options during your consultation. I do however, recommend you choose a location that isn’t too crowded, as this may cause a distraction for your dog.
If you would like your session at a location other than the ones I have listed, please contact me before booking to discuss. You can also send me a message via the contact form and I will call you back at a time suitable for you.
How far will you travel?
I will travel within a 40 mile radius of my Cardiff location but, I am happy to travel further if required. An additional fee of 50p per mile will be required for this. Please contact me before booking to confirm any additional fee and locations.
